The amendments to the Water Code has passed through the third reading in Parliament

Bishkek. November 16. KyrTAG - Albina Meterova. Deputies have considered the draft law "On Amendments to the Water Code of the Kyrgyz Republic" and passed it through the third reading. Such a decision they took at a meeting of the Parliament of the Kyrgyz Republic on Thursday.

"The draft law introduces amendments to Article 62 of the Water Code of the Kyrgyz Republic providing in exceptional cases related to the functioning of economic entities included in the list of strategic facilities that are large taxpayers and budget-forming enterprises," said Vice Prime Minister Duishenbek Zilaliyev.

According to him, the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic can make a decision on the permission of activities affecting the state of glaciers, subject to the maximum possible mitigation of damage from such activities and the constant monitoring of the state of the glaciers. The decision on the permission of such activities is made on the basis of an expert opinion of the authorized state body.

During the discussion of this draft law, the deputies paid special attention to issues in ecology and the preservation of glaciers. Representatives of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic noted that the amendments proposed to the Water Code concern only two glaciers - "Davydov" and "Lysyi", and do not belong to other glacier systems.

Following the discussion, the deputies have passed the draft law through the third reading.
